The Memorial Hospital Latest News
ourPerformance
The Adelaide Community Healthcare Alliance (ACHA), incorporating Ashford Hospital, Flinders Private Hospital and The Memorial Hospital; in partnership with its contracted manager Healthscope, have become the first Australian private health care providers to publish detailed quality performance data.
The launch of ourPerformance and www.myhealthscope.com.au on 7 November 2011, provides the most comprehensive suite of quality performance data in the Australian private health sector, showing national and individual data from all ACHA and Healthscope hospitals.
The websites feature hospital accreditation results, infection rates, falls and rehabilitation, unplanned hospital readmissions, unplanned returns to the operating theatre and Emergency Department waiting times.
Publication of this data is common overseas and is developing in Australia through initiatives such as the Australian Government’s MyHospitals website.
Where possible, we aim to collect quality indicators based on the recommendations of the Australian Commission for Quality and Safety in Healthcare, the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and MyHospitals.
ourPerformance and MyHealthscope also offers useful resources for patients and visitors including tips for improving safety and preventing infection, such as hand washing techniques.
The Memorial Hospital is delighted to announce that a new EEG clinic, EEG SA, is now open. This service officially commenced in May 2010. EEG SA will access and utilise the same state of the art equipment and highly trained technicians that currently service our sleep unit. Our additional new EEG specific equipment and trained EEG staff will provide a quality EEG service to both Doctors and Patients.
· Video telemetry: For evaluation of collapse from non-cardiac origin. · EEG studies: Standard, prolonged and overnight studies are provided, therefore we are able to provide the EEG that is clinically required for relevant patients. · Direct referral: You can refer your patient directly to EEG SA – a Neurologist will report your EEG and you will receive a copy of this report. A referral form is enclosed. · Costs: EEGs are covered by Private Health Funds. Self-funded costs are available on request. If you would like a personal tour of EEG SA or any further informaiton, please contact the centre on 8366 3805.
