Thank you for your interest in applying for employment as a nurse with Adelaide Community Healthcare Alliance (ACHA).  Before you apply for a position with an ACHA hospital, please consider the following;

 

Australian Nurse Registration:

You must have obtained nurse registration from the Nurses Board of South Australia before you can commence work with ACHA.  We recommend that you commence your nurse registration application before applying for employment with ACHA.

Work Visas:

ACHA can employ international nurses on a range of different work visas including Student visas, Working Holiday visas, and Temporary Business visas as well as foreign nationals who hold permanent residency in Australia.

 

When applying for employment with ACHA, you should consider your personal circumstances.  The position you apply for should compliment your personal plans and goals e.g. if you plan to visit Australia and travel around the country, a short term or casual position may be more suitable.  This may affect the type of visa you apply for.  You should fully research the type of work rights you plan to obtain before you apply for employment with ACHA.

 

Temporary Business visas sponsored by ACHA can only be granted once you have obtained nursing registration.  If you are applying for a sponsored visa you must submit evidence of your nurse registration to ACHA for your nomination to be processed.

Location:

ACHA has 3 private hospitals located in South Australia.  When you are applying for a position, we recommend that you research the local area of the employing hospital and consider the following;

 

Is it located in an area you want to live/work in/near? 

Will you be able to find suitable accommodation? 

Can you access transport to and from work?

Time to arrive in Australia:

We recommend you research how much time it will take for you to be ready to start work with ACHA. 

If you will not be able to commence work within 6 months of applying you may wish to consider applying to ACHA closer to a time you can commence work. 

 

Information about migration and visa applications:

ACHA will process sponsorship nominations for successful applicants who ACHA agrees to sponsor for a temporary business visa and/or permanent residency.

 

ACHA is not a migration agent.  Therefore, we cannot provide you with any information relating to your migration to Australia or about your visa application process.  Further information can be found at The Department of Immigration and Citizenship website at www.immi.gov.au

 

Applications for employment:

When applying for employment with ACHA please ensure;

 

Your application includes a completed application form, your current CV and any other documentation requested.

Your CV clearly details your work history and is relevant to your nursing history. 

Your CV lists your current/most recent position first and work backwards.

You provide clear, concise information on the templates and forms provided

You have the appropriate experience/qualification where requested.  (Clinical placements undertaken as part of under graduate nursing degrees are not considered relevant work experience, except where the position applied for forms part of the Healthscope Graduate Nurse Program.) 

Where specific qualifications are requested, e.g. ICU certificate, evidence of obtaining this qualification should be submitted with your application

 

Recruitment Agencies:

If you have registered with a recruitment agency, please declare this on any application you submit direct to ACHA.  Likewise, you should declare to your recruitment agency if you have applied directly to ACHA. 

 

ACHA holds contractual agreements with a number of recruitment agencies.  ACHA cannot accept applications from recruitment agents who do not hold a current agreement with Healthscope Limited. 

 

 

Application Process:

You can only apply to specific positions advertised.  Your application will be acknowledged and reviewed against the position criteria.  If your application is successfully short listed, you will be invited to attend an interview.  Should you interview be successful you will need to complete a health questionnaire form and provide at least 2 references before an appointment can be confirmed.

 

If you are successful in your application, ACHA will send you a formal letter of offer for your to sign and return to accept the position.

If you are not successful at any stage of the process, you will be sent email notification.
