24 Hour Medical Care at The Memorial Hospital

The Memorial Hospital has a Duty Medical Officer (DMO) rostered on 24 hours per day.

Their primary role is to support the Intensivists, nursing staff and patients in the Critical Care Unit. They also respond to Medical Emergencies within the hospital. They are also available to review any patients at the request of the admitting consultant.

The role of the DMO is unique in that it ensures patients in The Memorial Hospital have immediate access to a doctor should the need arise.

This is a service that The Memorial Hospital believes is important and does not charge the patient if they are required to be reviewed by the DMO.
