Visiting HoursThe Memorial Hospital understands how important visitors are to making a patient's stay more enjoyable. However, in the interest of patient wellbeing, the need for rest to assist healing, the impact on other patients and security issues, there are set visiting times:
Hudsons Coffee TMThe cafe is located on the ground floor, to the right of the hospital entrance. A selection of food, snacks and beverages are available.
RestroomsFacilities are available on the ground floor opposite the main lifts.
Telephones
Televisions and RadiosTelevisions and radios are provided at each bedside.
ChaplaincyA chaplaincy service forms an important part of The Memorial's health care team. Please ask the ward staff for contact details.
InterpreterAn accredited interpreter service can be arranged where deemed necessary.
X-RaysX-Rays remain the property of the patient and are to be taken home by the patient on discharge. The Memorial Hospital does not keep x-ray films or scans and does not accept responsibility for them following the patient’s discharge.
Valuables and MoneyPatients are strongly advised not to bring valuables, jewellery or excessive sums of money to hospital. The Memorial Hospital does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property. A Secure facility is available on request.
Car ParkingStreet Parking surrounding the hospital is available at council rates. Casual car parking is available at commercial rates in the Womens' and Childrens' Hospital car park off Kermode Street.
DrivingThe Memorial Hospital advises against driving a motor vehicle for 24 hours following an anaesthetic. Motor vehicle insurance policies may be void in the event of an accident. It is also recommended that you don’t use any dangerous machinery or tools, make important decisions, sign legal documents or drink alcohol for at least 24 hours following surgery.
ACHA FoundationThe ACHA Foundation raises funds to help continually improve the quality of medical equipment, facilities and services in the three ACHA Health hospitals; The Memorial, Ashford and Flinders Private. Donations are tax deductible; envelopes are available from hospital reception or wards.
Private Patients Hospital CharterA copy of this booklet is available in all ward areas.
Patient FeedbackPatient feedback is important to The Memorial Hospital and we encourage all patients to tell us how they feel about our level of customer service, our facilities and our staff. A 'Praise, Complaints & Suggestions' form will be made available to you during your stay. Should you have any concerns about any aspect of our service or facilities while you are in hospital, please ask to speak to the Clinical Manager of your ward so that we can assist you as soon as possible.
